I was preparing for this day since you left this world Mum, I knew it would be difficult but how can a person ever be prepared for Mother's Day and not be able to kiss or hug "the best Mother ever"?

I missed you so much and thought about you all day. Jul and Rick were there to support me, and I spent the afternoon with George, Harry, Jesse, and Maddy. Thank God for all of them; they sure helped.

We have wonderful memories that help, I pulled a video of you at Christmas, laughing and loving - and shared it with Jul and Rick!  

I hope your first Mother's Day in heaven with Nan was wonderful!
I know you are watching over us and I felt your love today, the same as I do everyday!
I hope you feel my love reaching up to you!

Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. Would you believe me if I told you the Jays are above .500 and second in the division? You'd probably say it's still early and they have lots of games left to blow it. I hope you're enjoying every game with a cigarette and a beer alongside Bump and Great Nan.

Dearest Laurie and family so sorry for your loss my deepest condolences and sympathies goes out to all of you. Love prayers and support is always with you. Our family will always treasure the memories from our friendship with our favourite neighbour, Val. We still sometimes catch ourselves anticipating to bump into Val in the laundry room, at the parking lot or in the hallway. I always enjoyed my visits with Val, sitting with her out on the balcony, learning a lot from her insights. We all miss you, Val, but we know you're in a much better place, completely healed. Val was my sister and my friend.  She loved life and people.  She was always willing to take time to listen to you.  Although we didn't always see eye to eye we did agree on what should be done to make the Toronto Blue Jays a winning team.  Val, would give you the shirt off her back if she thought it would help you.  Her children and grandchildren were most important to her.   Val was very concerned about their well being with all that is going on in the world these days.  She fought a good fight and now is in a place where there is no more tears and no more pain. Your Mom was one of a kind and it is impossible to put into words how much she will be missed.
Val had a genuine soul and a heart full of love and her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.

We are all so deeply saddened to hear about the news of your mom passing.
 I have fond memories of her, I remember the first time I met her a few years back she was so full of joy and happiness.  I remember her trying to help me  with my situation at the time with my Dad who was in the hospital at the time.   I had an issue and she told me she would go to battle for me that she would lobby for me and that we must fix this injustice.  That’s when I nicknamed her warrior princess. She did fight to the end, you all had an opportunity to spend some great time with her and she will be sadly missed, she  was so full of life . Deepest condolences from the Molinaro family.

Dear Laura, Julie and Ric, I am so sorry for your loss of yourloving Mom  I meet Val on th day I moved to Cambridge. We had a quick connection as she was walking Bo. We were able to see each other every day, watch sports, share shopping trips and I must confess a couple trips to the casino. She was warm, caring, loving and my bestie. There were many  long talks about you three and your families. She was so proud of all of you and so full of love. She is now free from pain and looking over us all. God Bless and hugs.

I will always love Valerie. Though life didn’t allow us much time together, the moments we shared were filled with joy and deep understanding. We shared the happiness of two beautiful grandchildren, and now, the excitement of her first great-grandchild on the way. Valerie was both sweet and strong—her resilience helped her overcome years of illness. She was the pillar of the family, always offering a smile and a kind word to everyone. I will miss her with all my heart.

My deepest condolences to your family on the loss of a beautiful person.  Val was always  welcoming  with a great sense of humor.  She had a heart of gold, would give the shirt off her back if someone needed it.  She loved the times at Point Clarke and often enjoyed a morning swim. I recall a story about when she called all the Black children to come in the house.  There was also a story about a lost shoe because it had been thrown int a tree.  Those who know her may recall these and many others as well.  When I first met Val, she just felt Like I had known her for a long time.  And then,  she married my Dad and became my Stepmom. Dear Nan,

Thank you so much for being our Nan, whenever I catch myself stressing out or sad, I think about how much joy you brought into all of our lives and how fortunate we all are to have spent time with you. I can count numerous times where the grandkids were goofing around with you and you would laugh so hard to the point where you would start coughing. I also remember when you used to work at shoppers drug mart. I always thought you were the coolest to ever do it, after you worked there the city ended up having rappers like "Drake" brag about working there. Anyone who knew you, knew such a genuine person, easy going, loving, caring, fun and full of life. You were dealt the most unfair hand but it never stopped you.

With all that being said the only thing you could not do was be a passenger in anyones vehicle, this I found most funny, you were worried about a driver breaking when they were going 20km/hr and still a km away from the car ahead. Oh nan, all the fun times and laughs you gave us, how you practically helped raise the 4 of us grandkids, how you'd sift thru the small drugstore/convenience store you called a purse, how you would never let anyone hang up the phone without getting the last "love ya hun, love ya sweetie, listen to your parents, talk soon"

You were the best and you always will be. You were the coolest, I will forever brag about the times you picked me up from school and let me play video games all day even if mom and dad "grounded " me. 

You were everything for anyone and everyday I will strive to be more like you,

I miss you sooo much!!  It’s good to be missing you. Only because that means we shared soooo many good times together. Of which I am forever thankful to have had those memories of those moments to miss
You a I have a special bond, not just because I am your first born and your only son, but because the times we shared together
I miss sitting on the balcony with you, talking about the special moons that were shining bright- you always knew what the moon was called, which way the wind was blowing, the kind of birds were at the feeders, and the entertainment the neighbours were providing.
Always enjoyed your take on the play of the Blue Jays and Raptors
I miss coming home knowing you were there waiting for me, whether it be you were worried or just missing me
I always felt sooo loved. I hope you felt it reciprocated!!

Nan, 

In a room full of boys growing up - you were my lady. My bestfriend and my grandma and my chauffeur and my babysitter and so much more. When you first moved back up to Cambridge I remember our summers and sharing a bed even though I often slapped you around in our sleep because I was so restless. You didn’t care, you laid beside me always night after night. Years later when I was much older , and I went through my first breakup- you laid beside me again. For as long as I can remember my life - you were always there. We were always having fun running errands and doing such mundane everyday things. I remember everything - how you used to fumble for change in your purse and mutter frustrations under your breath and me and Jesse would echo them whispering to each other and laugh which in hindsight just made you more mad. The time we convinced uncle Rick to bring home a puppy from the mall and you let me just carry him around and play with him every weekend. I remember you calling me in for supper from the backyard when I was playing with the neighbourhood kids. There are so many countless memories I will never forget. If home was a person - you were it. That’s why this has been so hard, we are all just a little homesick for you Nan. But you also taught me to be strong- you were the toughest person I know. You taught me to fight for what you believe and for those you love. Cancer was a cheap shot Nan. You fought so hard until the very end. If I was a referee - you would have won this fight. But instead we all won for getting to know you and love you. I can’t wait to hug you again. I love you and miss you beyond words.
