

Born on September 16, 1925, Vito lived a vibrant life filled with love and laughter.
He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 70 years, Eileen Lacalamita (Leone), in 2023. Vito was also preceded in death by his siblings Vito Paul, Antonia, Frank, and Maria, as well as nephews Angelo, Victor, Leonard, and niece Frances.
Vito is survived by his beloved children, Michael Lacalamita and Barbara Lacalamita (John Radford). His legacy also lives on through his granddaughter, Jennifer Radford (Matthew Garland). He is remembered with love by many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
A dedicated and energetic man, Vito enjoyed a long and active life, maintaining his health and independence in his own home until the end. He was well-known in his career as a Produce Manager, where his passion for fruits and vegetables was evident in both his professional life and personal enjoyment of grocery shopping.
Vito's warm spirit and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed, and forever cherished. His life was a testament to his strength, kindness, and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Vito’s remarkable life and legacy at Kane-Jerrett North York Funeral Home (6191 Yonge St. south of Steeles Ave.) on Monday, September 16th 2024. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11 am.
Reception will be held at Kane-Jerrett, with Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the Stroke Unit at North York General Hospital.
