October 26, 1939 – December 2, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share that Yolanda Aida Browne (née Kneider) died on December 2, 2025.
Yolanda passed away peacefully in her home, with her daughters by her side. She will be deeply missed by her 3 children, her family, and her many friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.
Yolanda was born and raised in the small town of Dunnville, Ontario, within a strong and loving family. She often spoke warmly of her idyllic childhood-growing up in a close-knit community where everyone knew one another and where she was surrounded by family and close friends, and where her lifelong curiosity and compassion first took root.
A devoted lifelong learner, Yolanda had a passion for both music and children. After high school, she followed her calling and became a teacher. She dedicated her entire life to education - both in the classroom and beyond. As an educator, she touched countless students with her patience, encouragement, and her sincere belief in their potential.
Yolanda was endlessly curious and had a remarkable ability to talk to anyone about anything. She loved crossword puzzles, tending to her garden, cooking meals for her family, and even “googling” anything that sparked her interest. She delighted in texting her young friends, staying sharp, and learning continuously.
Yolanda’s faith was the foundation of her life. She was deeply devoted to Our Lady and devoted many years to serving her church community through prayer, volunteering, and acts of kindness. Her faith shaped the way she lived and the way she loved.
Yolanda has been welcomed into heaven by her parents, Olga and Camille Kneider, her sister Claudette, and her cousins Suzanne and Jeanette. She leaves behind her beloved children - Katherine, Michael, and Maura - as well as her sister Madeleine, brother John, nephew Andrew, and her special cousins Albert, George and Richard. She will also be fondly remembered by her many countless friends and former students who were touched by her warmth, intelligence, and generosity of spirit.
Her life was a gift to many, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. We now have another angel we can call by name.
