Alan Richard Montgomery

Memorial services for Alan Richard Montgomery, age 59, are scheduled for 2:00pm Saturday at the West Erwin Church of Christ, Tyler, TX. Family will be receiving friends prior to the service at 1:00pm in the church foyer.

Mr. Montgomery was born May 7, 1952, to Homer Richard Montgomery and Mildred Marie Montgomery in Fort Worth, Texas.

The family moved to Florida where he lived most of his life. In 1970 he attended Abilene Christian College where he met Candace Womack and was married in 1972.

Mr. Montgomery worked the snack food business while in Florida, but became a Realtor with Century 21 First Group after moving to Tyler in 2003. He became an active member of the Greater Tyler Association of Realtors, served on the MLS committee and was a board member for three years and the chairman for one year.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Marie Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Candace; his daughter, Gina and husband Jae; his son, Christopher; his father, Homer Montgomery and wife Joy; brother, Dana Montgomery and wife Becky; sister, Marta Ayers and husband Roger; nieces Marissa and Heather, and 2 grand nieces.
