I knew Amanda was a special young lady when Jamary told me he wanted me to meet her. That
was eight years ago. She captivated me from the very beginning because she was so genuine,
kind, and had such a loving demeanor. I got to know her better as time passed where we would
have hour-long conversations sitting on the floor eating cookies and drinking hot tea laughing
and talking. She introduced me to one of her favorites to eat, Pho and let me know more about
her cultute around that meal. There were so many special moments with her, and she became p
so comfortable with me that she started calling me “mama” - the same as Jamary did. And, she
became my daughter. She made sure I established a relationship with Amari when I moved by
calling me to FaceTime and by random phone calls and texts. She was the perfect person for
my son and mother to my grandson. They loved each other immeasurably. I made every effort
to let her know how amazing she was and never left her without saying “ I love you.” My family
loves her, all of us love her. Paul and Terry, you should know you had an irreplaceable daughter
who made a great impact on everyone’s life. She will never be forgotten.
So, I want to close with this poem.Rest easy my special daughter. We love you , Amanda
