

She was raised in Seagoville, Texas, and attended Seagoville schools as well as The Hockaday School. Barbara later attended Trinity University in San Antonio, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She was also a co-owner of Turner Clinic in Canton, where she served as office manager for many years and helped develop a community focused practice.
Philanthropy and service were deeply important to Barbara. She was active in her church and generously involved in her community, supporting organizations such as Blackwell House, Study Club, the Crawford House, and many others.
Barbara enjoyed many hobbies, but she especially loved spending time tending to her gardens and flower beds.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Brantley, and husband, Daniel Brantley, and their children, John and Olivia; her son, John Turner III, and wife, Laurie, and their children, Colin, Patrick, Henry, and Jack; her brother, Jim Williamson; and her beloved fur babies.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of East Texas or the East Texas Crisis Center.
