Ben "B.B," Garrett Sr.

Mr. Garrett passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in Tyler.

He was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. He was retired from Cotton Belt Railroad as a Freight Claims Agent with 42 years of service to Cotton Belt. He had lived in Tyler since 1952. He was a charter member of the Shriners.

He was born on January 31, 1917 in Spiro, Oklahoma to the late Henry L. and Vera Bryan Garrett.

He was preceded in death by his wife Silva Leach Garrett, grandson David Garrett and canine companion, Lady..

He is survived by a daughter Pamela Garrett and husband Danny of Tyler, sons Ben Bryan “Bud” Garrett Jr. and wife Carolyn of North Richland, Texas, Donald Gregory Garrett of Omen, one sister Inez Gilbert Cannon, Bearden, Arkansas, brother, Joe L. Garrett, Rison, Arkansas. Five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
