

Billie Jean “Jeanie” Tunnell, 81, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeanie was born on October 23, 1932 in Tyler, Texas to Coplen and Leota Bailey. She married the love of her life, Dr. Ira Tunnell on April 28, 1951 in Tyler.
Jeanie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, raising four children. She was a hands-on mother whose passion was watching her children and grandchildren compete in sports. She was their biggest fan in sports and in life. She was a Godly woman who read scripture every morning and was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Edmond, OK.
Jeanie is survived by her husband, Ira Tunnell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four children, Ed Tunnell and wife Trina of Hawkins, TX., Deadra Gage and husband Mike of Corsicana, TX., Lee Tunnell and wife Bea of Oklahoma City, OK., and Jena Tunnell of Denton, TX.
She is also survived by her grandsons Nathan Tunnell and wife Shawna of Lindale, TX., Zachary Tunnell and wife Deanna of Cisco, TX., James Tunnell of Oklahoma City, OK.,John Gage of Corsicana, TX.; granddaughters Sarah Tunnell of Tyler, TX., Julie and husband Cliff Williams of Willis, TX., Emily and husband Nathan Fite of Oklahoma City, OK., Debbie and husband Heath Sanches of Corsicana, TX., Natalie Tunnell and fiancé Cole Cleveland of Oklahoma City, OK., and Jessica Tunnell of Oklahoma City, OK. Her great-grandchildren are Tristan Tunnell, Noah Tunnell, Coplen Tunnell, Bethany Tunnell, Carter Williams, Caroline Williams, Autrey Golden, Beckett Fite, Owen Fite, Riley Sanches and Casyn Sanches.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler, TX. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
