

Memorial services for Cheryl McKamy Cooper, 70, of Tyler are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday September 19, 2015 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Claude A. Cox officiating under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cooper passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Tyler.
She was born on May 5, 1945 in Irving to the late Ira Lee and Stella Lois Burleson McKamy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Thomas Bret Griggs and a brother, Charles McKamy.
She is survived by her husband Michael G. Cooper; son, John L. Dunnahoe and wife Andrea of Troup; grandchildren, Chelsea V. Dunnahoe, Emily K. Dunnahoe, Samantha Jones, Shauna Stewart, Amanda and Sara; brother, Ray and Liz McKamy and sister-in-law, Susie McKamy, numerous nieces and nephews.
She retired from UT Health Center in Tyler as a Business Office Manager. She was respected by staff, patients and patient families for her compassion and her professionalism. She was blessed with a 50 year love affair with her husband and soulmate Michael G. Cooper. She was dedicated to her children and her grandchildren without regard for personal sacrifice, and was never lacking in a time of need. She allowed those around her to form their own opinions, express ideas, and seek there own individuality; She respected your need to become who you were without burdening you with her faults, failures, or triumphs. She faced the dread of our age with courage, true courage. There are those who have much that give little, there are those who have little who give all, she gave all. She loved, she was loved, she is missed.
