On Friday morning, June 20, 2025, God came and took the beautiful, wonderful, kind, loving soul of Deborah Marshall back with Him to Heaven to be with her Heavenly family. Undeserving of Alzheimer's, this horrible disease took her from our lives.
Born Deborah Lynn Morrow on july 28, 1950 to Roetta and travis Morrow in Tyler. She is preceded in death by her mother (Roetta), father (Travis), brothers (Tony, Mike and Dwayne), and her husband (Richard). She is survived by her sister (Cheri Roemeling of Grand Prairie - husband Keith), daughter (Audra Williams of Tyler - husband John), son (Britt of Teaselville - wife Stacey), and son (Layton of Tyler - wife Carrie), PLUS the real love of her life - grandchildren Madison, Briley, Ashlyn, Mason, Mackenzie, and Jennifer.
Debbie married Richard Marshall in 1967. She began her education in Tyler Public Schools, Tyler Junior College, LeTourneau (Teacher Certificate) and Stephan F. Austin (Masters Certificate). She got her Master's Degree by going to night school. She was the first member of her immediate family to graduate from college. She began her career teaching in Chapel Hill, then to Bullard ISD. She taught grades 2 thru 8, depending where she was needed, then with her Master's Degree, she became Assistant Principal at Owens Elementary. She remained there until she retired.
After her husband passed away, she became friends with her next-door neighbor (a widower) and together, they made 4 long trips to Europe, 3 cruises (Baltic, Panama Canal and Alaska), a 10 week road trip to the Western US and Canada, plus 5 shorter USA trips (including 16 different baseball stadiums). COVID put a stop to further adventures. She always wanted to visit an art gallery and would spend hours there. A highlight was that Debbie got to see all the works of Michelangelo (except one). And her favorite place to be is wherever she is at the time.
A visitation for Debbie will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 6-8pm at Lloyd James Funeral Home, located at 1011 E. 1st Street, Tyler, TX 75701. A celebration of Debbie's life will be held at the same location on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11am with burial to follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery on S. Broadway Ave. in Tyler.
