

Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Kessler Williams, 73, of Tyler, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Tyler with Pastor Bud Pearson officiating. Lloyd James Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio with Pastor Gerry Metzger officiating.
Dorothy passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in Tyler.
She was born on October 12, 1940 in Houston, to Edwin Lorenz and Helen Bertha Wach Kessler. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church where she was on the Social Ministry Committee. She was a member of the Ladies Quilting Group, the Darning Ladies Sewing Group, the Lutheran Church Women, and was a sponsor for Cub Scout Pack 348 all at the church. Dorothy graduated from Draughon’s Business School in San Antonio. She was secretary for the head agent at the Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Office in San Antonio. Dorothy was a former library volunteer at UT Health Northeast for many years.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Marion Glenn Williams, Jr.; daughter, Heather Eileen Williams; aunt, Dorothy Powell; cousins, Robert Wach, Richard Wach, Janice Roberts and husband Kenny, Cynthia Russell and husband David Fotorny, Roger Calvert and wife Leslie, Kathleen Busse and husband James, George Calvert, Wayne Powell and wife Jackie, Gary Powell and wife JoAnn, Karen Pool, and her loving church family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Lucille Louise Calvert and uncles, Arthur Wach and Lucern Kessler.
Pallbearers will be Robert Wach, Richard Wach, Roger Calvert, George Calvert, Wayne Powell, Gary Powell, Toby Fite, and Orlando Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Juan Rodriguez and Uriah Johnson.
The family would like to thank the staff members of UT Health Northeast, the Hospice of East Texas, and Hawthorn Suites for making the time of Dorothy's illness a more peaceful one for her and her family.
Visitation will be Friday, May 30, 2014 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
