

Edith O. Darst made her ascent into Christ' eternal kingdom on Friday morning January 20, 2017 at the good old age of 101. Edith is predeceased by her parents, Irvin and Anna Priscilla Parkin, her husband C. A. Darst after 55 years of marriage. She is also predeceased by her son Alfred W. Darst and her 4 sisters, Edna M. Parkin, Christina Halbrook, Rosalie Brand and Wilma Fox.
Edith is survived by her four grandsons, Gordon Darst of Winnsboro, David Darst of Palestine, Barry Darst of Jarrell and Clayton Darst of Winnsboro. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren Tessa Darst, Toby Darst, Daygan Darst, Rain Darst, Danielle Darst, Gavin Darst, Lium Darst, Chandler Darst, Bailey Darst, Halle Darst, and daughter-in-Law Marilyn Darst of Whitehouse.
She was born in Belgrade, Missouri the youngest of five sisters, where they grew up on a farm. She met the love of her life, a young preacher and schoolteacher, Clarence Alfred Darst and they were married in 1937. For 38 years they served the Lord at the Bethany Baptist Church in St Louis, Missouri. They later moved to Tyler, Texas in 1966 where they continued to build churches and spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be at Lloyd James Funeral Home Monday evening, January 23, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. With a graveside service to follow on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Edith will be laid to rest next to her husband at Rose Hill Cemetery, 2400 South Donnybrook Avenue, Tyler, Texas 75701 with Pastor David Darst officiating.
