

Evelyn Hanson Neumann, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2022 with her family close by. She was born on July 21, 1929 to Percy and Joan Hanson in Minneapolis, MN. Married Francis J. Neumann in 1950 and moved to TX, and was the proud mother of 11 children. Mrs. Neumann was very active in church activities for many years, gave her time to St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic School, and helped with Ladies of Charity and St. Vincent DePaul groups in Dallas. She enjoyed watching her children in sporting events, encouraging them to be their own person, and hosted the best Gramma Polish poker parties. Preceeded in death by her loving husband Fran of 53 years, sons Paul and Craig, her parents and several siblings. She is survived by her children Fran Jr, Nancy (Cary), David (Susan), Jane (Dan), Jack (Cindy), Barbara, Thomas (Kristie), Jim and Mary Kay (Mike), 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, Minnesota siblings Barb (Joe), Margaret, Bill (Kathy), Peter (Carol), Penny (Bob), and many nieces and nephews and their families and many, many friends.
There will be a private family visitation at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler, followed by a private Rosary and Mass for the family at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Tyler. A graveside service at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Rowlett Rd. in Rowlett at 3:00 pm is open to family and friends. A reception for all will be held at the Rowlett Community Center on Main St. immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Catholic Charities of Dallas or Tyler to honor Evelyn Neumann.
