

Services for Frank McCabe Jr. will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at 10:00am at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Tyler. Interment will follow at the Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler. Father Gus Tharappel will be officiating. Visitation will be at Lloyd James Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 5:00pm with a Rosary to follow at 6:00pm.
Mr. McCabe was born Dec. 10, 1934 in New Canaan, Ct. to Anna Elizabeth and Frank McCabe. Upon graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Army. With the assistance of the GI bill, Mr. McCabe attended Tri-state University and earned an engineering degree. He worked for Carrier Air Conditioning in Syracuse, NY. before being transferred to Tyler as manager of product engineering in 1969. He loved God, family and golf. His passion for golf brought him to many fine courses from St. Andrews, Scotland to Pebble Beach, CA. and he always loved to share a round of golf with family and friends.
Mr. McCabe was preceded in death by his parents Anna Elizabeth and Frank McCabe and sisters Frances Skinner and June Breedlove. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Adrienne, his brother Ed McCabe and wife Ann of Seminole, FL. and his sister, Betty McCabe of Nauigatuck, CT. He will be forever loved and missed by his children and their spouses, Kevin and Dana McCabe, Port Neches; Glen and Karla McCabe, Houston; Brian and Kathy McCabe, Tyler; Cam McCabe, Tyler and Todd and Mary Jo McCabe, San Antonio. “Gramps” will be missed by his eleven grandchildren who will always remember his presence at their many sporting events and school activities.
Mr. McCabe was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus. Pallbearers will be his eight grandsons.
