Frank attended schools in Brownwood and Early, played football in high school, which he greatly enjoyed, and graduated from Early High School in 1961. He entered the army in October of 1961, served with the military police, was an expert with the rifle, receiving the Marksman and Sharpshooter awards. He also received a Good Conduct Medal. He left the military in 1967. He then attended Texas Christian University and graduated in 1969.
After receiving his CPA license, he worked for a hospital in Harlingen Texas, and some other businesses in Texas cities before setting up a solo practice in Early, Texas, working from his home office.
He liked to travel with his friend from college days, Ruth Dych, whom he married in later life. Frank and Ruth were married at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, where they had earlier been active in the young adult group.
One of the most memorable trips for Frank was his travel to Europe to visit the gravesite of his father, who died in World War II when he was very young. He also toured all the historical sites of that war.
In later years, his health suffered after a severe accident, and he remained fairly inactive until his death.
A Graveside service to commemorate Frank's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler with Rev. Chuck Ward officiating, under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Military Honors will be presented by the U.S. Army.
