Hazel Mae Hayes passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, at age 90. She was born on December 19,1935 in Marion, Louisiana and resided in Whitehouse, Texas at the time of her passing. She grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and, after marriage, moved from Shreveport, Louisiana to Tyler in 1972, where she worked with her husband in their family business. She was a member of Rose Heights Church. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed arranging flowers, painting, sewing, smocking, and was a wonderful cook.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Leon Foster and Inez Reppond Foster, her siblings, daughter, Carolyn Hayes, and husband, A.H. (Hoyt) Hayes. She is survived by her five children, Karen Frank, Jep Hayes, Vicky Ulm, Cindy Walker, Jason Hayes and 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Following a private family service, internment will be at Cathedral of the Pines Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas, Tyler.
