James Howard Barton

Funeral services for James Howard Barton, 66, of Tyler are scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Davis officiating. Mr. Barton passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at The Hospice of East Texas.

Mr. Barton was born on December 15, 1946 in Jena, LA. to Ennis Joe and Edna Florence Trammel Barton. He worked for Bonar Packaging for 33 years. He was a former member of the Rose City Baptist Church in Tyler.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Connie Barton of Tyler; sons, Scott Barton of Whitehouse, Keith Barton of Tyler; David Reed of Palestine, Daryell Reed of Tyler and Donnie Reed of Midvale, Utah; daughter, Glenda Hickey of Gladewater; brothers, Pete Barton of Tyler and Charlie Barton of Arp; sister, Mary Brooks of Troup; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his sisters; Geneva Anders, Clora Smith, Joyce Key and Bobbie Smith; brothers, Ennis Boyd Barton and David Barton; and grandson, David Glenn Reed.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M., Sunday, one hour prior to the service at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
