
Services for James Roy Brewer, 84, of Tyler are scheduled for 2:30 P.M., Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Tate officiating. Entombment is at Rose Hill Mausoleum under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Brewer passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011 in a Tyler hospital.
He was born on August 13, 1926 in Corinth, Mississippi to the late William Roy and Ollie Mae Brewer. He lived in Odessa and Lubbock prior to moving to Tyler. He retired as a geologist from his company, Portable Logging Company. He loved his family and friends and the Lord very dearly. He loved all sports and always enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife, Barbara Brewer and sister, Mary Harnist.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Goerdel of Tyler, Carla Hanks and husband Johnny of Elkin, North Carolina and Patricia Fullingim of Lubbock; sister, Margie Morrison of Tyler; brother, Kelton Brewer of Houston; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Brandon Tuell, Brad Casey, Gary Harnist, Scotty Harris, Randy Brewer and Johnny Hanks. Honorary pallbearer is Ron Harnist.
