

A celebration to honor the life of Jerry Kay Turner of Tyler will be on Thursday @ 2:00 at Southpoint Church of God in Tyler with Rev. Charles Wilson and Rev. Gaylon Taylor officiating under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mrs. Turner entered into the presence of the Lord Sunday mroning, May 8th, on Mother's Day. She was born in Athens, TX on July 30, 1942 to Jack and Ella Mae Griffith. She was a faithful wife to Charlie J. Turner for almost 24 years. She was a loving mother to four daughters, Debi Smith of Tyler, Shari Hilliard and husband Keith of Tyler, Kim Dowdy of Tyler, and LeighAnne Wilson and husband Charles of Payne Springs. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchild.
She loved the Lord with all of her heart and lived a life pleasing to Him. Her health didn't always allow her to do the things for the Lord that she wanted, but she could pray. She was a great prayer warrior, and if there was a need, she would not hesitate to take it to the Lord in prayer. She loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. "Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also and he praiseth her."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ella Mae Griffith, brother Truman Lee Griffith, sister Billy Jack Griffith, and two great-grandsons, Alexander Mayberry and Joshua Smith.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Interment will be at Payne Springs Cemetery.
