

A Mass of Christian Burial for Katherine Saleh Peters, 95, of Tyler, is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 2, 2015 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Bishop Joseph E. Strickland officiating. Burial is in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Lloyd James Funeral Home on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1:30-2:30 P.M. with a rosary following at 2:30 P.M. with Deacon Bill Necessary officiating.
Katherine passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2015, in Tyler surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 30, 1919 in Tyler to the late Ellis and Helen Haddad Saleh. She was a longtime member of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church where she served on the Altar Society and as a member of the church choir. She was also a member of The Cedars of Lebanon Club of Tyler, Tyler Petroleum Club and a volunteer at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital gift shop. She worked for Mayer and Schmidt Department Store, Dr. Clayton Shirley and the Royal Confectionary which was owned by her parents. She also owned and operated with her husband the Royal Music Co., Dairy Treat, Peters’ Novelty Co. and Rose Stadium Concessions. Her hobbies included bowling with the Tyler Bowling League, playing on the Bellwood Golf Team and bowling and golfing with her husband. At age 80 she drove and delivered for Meals on Wheels. Even at age 95 she could be found at the casinos having fun.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Tenal Louis Peters; brothers, Albert Saleh and Mitchell Saleh and sister, Margaret Saleh Rolling.
She is survived by her son, Greg Peters and wife Tammy of Tyler; daughters, Sally Peters Bearden of Tyler, Gail Edwards of Whitehouse and Susan Tabaee and husband Mike of Dallas; grandchildren, Daniel Bearden and wife Jane, Travis Bearden and wife, Lindsey, Kristina Peters, Joey Peters, Anthony Peters and Justin Edwards as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers are Daniel Bearden, Travis Bearden, Justin Edwards, Edmond Schaded, John T. Saleh, Steven Peters, George NeJame, Johnny Johnson, Nicky Romero and Bob Beall.
Honorary pallbearers are members of The Cedars of Lebanon Club of Tyler.
