A time of visitation for Kenneth will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, followed by a "celebration of life" service at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Red Springs Cemetery.
Kenneth Medlin moved to Hawkins, Tx., with his family in 1945, and attended Hawkins ISD for twelve years, graduating in the class of 1960. He played high school football and was known by his friends as "Moose".
He met the love of his life, Molly Vern Balfour of Red Springs, married her and they had three sons, Scott, and twins Chad and Brad.
Kenneth attended Tyler Jr. College and the University of Texas at Austin.
Kenneth managed and retired with Bill Day Tire, Tyler, after forty years. Then he began his adventure of helping others. He worked with the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, but his love was animal rescue! He spent years, traveling long distances if necessary, to rescue and find good homes for his fur babies. Many, many of his rescue dogs were kept at his home in Red Springs. He helped rescue a female who was about to deliver a litter of puppies...and she did, in his garage....nine sweet babies! Kenneth was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Lindale.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, Memorials be made to an animal rescue, Shelter or pet haven of your own choice.
