Larry Thomas Morris, age 76, of Whitehouse, passed Saturday, January 11, 2014. Larry was born February 12, 1937 in Ft. Worth, TX to the late Alfred Vernon and Naomi Hayes Morris. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Naval Reserve. He married the love of his life and best friend, Bonnie Estelle Templeton, on March 12, 1976 in Lubbock, TX.
Larry was proud of his country and loved the Lord. He was an active member of the Whitehouse United Methodist Church and a 23 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoyed watching football and baseball, playing golf and listening to classical music and the choir at church. He loved eagles and everything they stood for. He started the "Thrifty Nickel" in Tyler in 1982 until he retired in 2012. Those who knew Larry will remember him as a “gentle man” who was encouraging and delightful to be around.
Larry is survived by his wife Bonnie; two sons, Phillip Morris, and Julie, of Allen, TX and Bill Morris of Pompano Beach, FL; and two grandsons, Taylor Attaway and Harley Morris.
