Lois Reynolds Pattillo, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born in Leila Lake, Texas, on June 15, 1927, to JB and Irene May Fryor Reynolds. Growing up on a large family farm with her brothers, James, Keat, Joe, and sister Berttie, Lois learned the values of hard work, compassion, and hospitality. Their home was a haven for many displaced and migrant families over the years, reflecting Lois's deep-rooted commitment to sharing love and kindness with others.
In 1945, Lois followed her brother James to Abilene Christian College, where her path intertwined with that of a young Navy veteran named Jim. The connection between them was instant, and they married on August 11, 1946, in the warm embrace of her sister Berttie’s home in Plainview, Texas. Lois welcomed their three sons into the world: Nick in Amarillo, TX, Jerry in Ardmore, OK, and Pat in Oklahoma City, OK.
Jim's 47-year career with Shell Oil took the family on many adventures across states, including Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. Each new place brought with it cherished friendships and memories that Lois held close to her heart.
In 1988, after a fulfilling career, Jim and Lois made the decision to retire in Tyler, Texas, to be closer to family. There, they found a loving community at Shiloh Road Church of Christ, embracing East Texas as their forever home.
Lois will be remembered for her unwavering love, her joyful spirit, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and community that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Lois is beloved by family, friends and church family. She is survived by her children, Nick and wife Elaine Pattillo and Jerry Pattillo.
