Funeral services for Major Harry W. Oxford Sr. Ret., 90, of Tyler are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 04, 2012 at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Pastor Don R. Spradling officiating. Burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Maj. Oxford passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Tyler.
He was born on March 1, 1922 in Seattle WA., to the late Clyde Ely Oxford and Annie Hamblin Oxford. He attended 2 years of college at Butler University in Indiana, cadet training, while in the military. He retired after 39 years of active and reserves service as a Major for the US Air force. Harry was married to Mildred I. Oxford for 53 years until her passing in 1998. Harry also ran the Capitol Ford Auto Dealership in San Jose CA., where he received the Ford “Top Hatter award for car sales and service." He worked in car sales and management for 30 years. Harry is a member of the Conservative Coffee Confederation of Tyler.
He is survived by his son Dr. Harry W. Oxford Jr. and wife Carla of Tyler and his granddaughter, Ashley Oxford.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
