Marvin H. Hamilton

Mr. Hamilton passed away on Tuesday October 24, 2017, in Tyler. He was born to Hugh H. Hamilton and Minnie Winn Hamilton on July 13, 1936 in Iola, Texas. He married Marcene Crawford in Hamlin, Texas on August 17, 1957.

Mr. Hamilton was veteran and served in the United States Air Force. Marvin was the general manager for American General Life and Accident Insurance Company in Tyler for many years and he was the past president of Life Underwriters Association. After his retirement, he worked for Chapel Hill ISD as a behavior assistant at the Behavior hospital for many years. Also, he worked at Kissam Elementary School as a para professional. He greeted all the little ones and helped them out of the car every morning, so that they could start their day off right with a big smile. He was like a "Paw Paw" to them. They loved Mr. Marvin. Marvin also enjoyed working at the Dairy Queen.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marcene Hamilton of the home in Tyler, his five daughters, Debra Frazier and husband Roger of Arp, Cindy Joplin and husband Joel of Chapel Hill, Felicia Massey and husband Terry of Tyler, Daphne Smith and husband Len of Tyler, Barbara Hamilton of Tyler and one brother, Arnold Hamilton and his wife Marsha. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Jennifer Quinalty, Patricia Vaughan, Jarrod Buckner, Josh Joplin, Jeanette Anderson, James Wright, Dalton Wright, Sean Smith, Lacy Massey, Abigail Massey, and one great- granddaughter, Aubree Quinalty.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Helon Dickens and his granddaughter Mandi Nicole.

Pallbearers will be Steve Mallory, Steven Hurst, Todd Kelley, Sean Smith, Dalton Wright and James Wright.

The family will receive friends and family from 6-8pm on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler.
