Funeral services for Marvin Gene Sudduth, 83, of Tyler, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018, in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home with Reverends Ron Moore and Tom Crawford officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Cathedral in the Pines cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service.
Marvin went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 31, 2017.
He was born on May 19, 1934 in Pleasant Hill, Texas. He graduated high school in Sulphur Springs and attended ETSU in Commerce.
Marvin was an active member of Westwood Baptist church, serving as a deacon. He was also a giving member of St. Johns Masonic Lodge and the Sharon Temple Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy, and his parents, F.R. and Lillian Sudduth.
Survivors include his son, Barry Sudduth and wife Mary; sister-in-law Nelta Naquin and husband Gordon; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Hospice of East Texas, Westwood Baptist church or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
