Mattie Sam Spruill

Mattie Sam McLeod Spruill earned her Crown of Life and Angel Wings on October 15, 2023 at the age of 98. Mattie was a child of the King, a devoted Wife, Mother and Granny. She taught many other children about the love of Jesus at East Tyler Baptist Church. She began a legacy of faithful followers of Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fletcher and Gertrude McLeod and husband of 55 years Leo Samuel Spruill. She is survived by 3 Daughters: Nita Allen, Martha Smitha (Steven) and Trudy McGregor (Daniel; 7 Grandchildren: Bryan Smitha, Jeremy Lampin (Janice), Amy Chaudhari (David Solis), Bradley Lampin (Jennifer), Justin Allen (Tara Jeanne), Samuel McGregor, Jianna Martinez (Jason); and 7 Great Grandchildren.

A Celebration Of Life Service will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Lloyd James Funeral Home. A time of visitation will precede the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Breast Cancer Society or East Tyler Baptist Church.
