Orpha Puckett

Orpha Puckett, 89, of Tyler passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014, peacefully in her home. She lived a long, joy-filled life which she spent loving her family and serving the Lord. She was born March 25, 1924, and was preceded in death by her spouse, Harvey Puckett, who lovingly referred to her as “Pest”.

She was a lifelong resident of Tyler. She was employed as a private sitter and spent much of her time caring for others.

She is survived by a son, Harvey Keith Puckett; grandsons, Joey Byrd, Chris Puckett, Eli Murphy, Caleb Puckett, D.J. Byrd, Robert Byrd, Styles Byrd, Collin Parnell, and Lane Parnell; granddaughters, Shawntae Murphy, Dianna Parnell, Lauren Easley, McKenzie Easley, Claire Puckett, Kathryn Wright, Alexis Parnell and Amaris Byrd; sister, Viola Garland; and brothers, Floyd Stevens and Lloyd Stevens.

Orpha was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharon Byrd; sister, Oleta Williamson; and brothers, Arvel, Delma, and Eldon Stevens.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow in Elkins Cemetery.
