

Services for Patricia Ann Ferguson, 83, Tyler, will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10:00 in the morning at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Bryan Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New London. Mrs. Ferguson passed away on August 3, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1942 in Dallas to Walter Wilson and Bobbie Mae Jolly Sanders. She married the love of her life, Andy, on June 1, 1963 in Bell Gardens, California. They were happily married for 49 years. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from The University of Texas at Tyler. She was an elementary teacher at Chapel Hill ISD for 29 years, where she taught third grade, kindergarten, and Reading Recovery. She was a member of The Woods Baptist Church in Tyler.
Mrs. Ferguson was known for her quick wit, wise counsel, and exceptional generosity. She cheerfully gave of her time, her resources, and especially her love. She loved to travel and almost achieved her goal of visiting all 50 states. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cheering for the Texas Longhorns. With the exception of Jesus, nothing was more important to her than her family. Whether attending a sporting event, band concert, or dance recital, or just simply hanging out, Mrs. Ferguson made spending time with those she loved a priority. Most importantly, she exemplified Christ in her words and deeds, drawing others to Jesus and leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Mrs. Ferguson is preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Bobbie Sanders, and her husband, Walter Andy Ferguson. She is survived by her daughters, Pam Reyes (Rick), Polly Ludolph (Scott), Jill Armstrong (James), and Juli Southern (Stoney); brothers, Tommy Sanders (Maria) and Larry Sanders (Roberta); grandchildren, Aaron, Austin (Aubriee), and Logan Ouchley, Blake (Tatum), Tanner, and Rhett Ludolph, Lindsey Black (Nick), Laney Mesta, Cassidy Van Huss (Jacob), Jacee Looney (Keilon); great-grandchildren, Kael, Bryson, Brooklynn, Zeke, Blakelynn, Nova, Alina, Crew, Rowan, Kyah, Elijah, and Kace; and special friends, Maribeth Oxford and Cathy Cutler of Tyler. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to Nicole Wilkerson and Ashlee Woods of Heart to Heart Hospice and Rachel Conner of Bluebonnet Point Wellness for their compassion and care.
Pallbearers will be Blake, Tanner, Rhett, and Kael Ludolph, Aaron and Austin Ouchley, Nick Black, and Bryson Terrell. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 E First Street, Tyler.
