Stephen Ray Shepard

Funeral services for Stephen Ray Shepard, 51, of Tyler are scheduled for 11:00am, Monday, April 25, 2016 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is from 6 to 8pm, Sunday April 24, 2016 also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bascom Cemetery.

Stephen passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 in Tyler.

He was born on July 4, 1964 in Tyler to Albert “Pete” Shepard and Patricia Gail Gilliland Shepard. Stephen was a high school graduate of John Tyler in 1982. He loved music, guitars and writing. He loved his family get-togethers and enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Survivors include his mother, Gail Shepard, of Tyler; sister, Pamela K. Hubbard and husband Randy, of Chapel Hill; nephew, Steven Ray Hubbard and wife, Elisha; great-niece Lily Kay Hubbard; niece, Kimberly Dawn Hubbard; great-niece, Chloe Hubbard; aunts, Peggy Thorn and husband Doyle, Alberta Larison and husband Bo and Barbara Renfro; uncle, Kenneth L. Gilliland; and numerous cousins.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Albert “Pete” Shepard, paternal grandparents, Albert Shepard, Sr. and Bertie S. Shepard; maternal grandparents, Edward O. Gilliland and Hazel O. Gilliland; and an aunt, Kathy D. McCoy.

Pallbearers are Tony Ray, David Ray, Steven Hubbard, Dean Murphy, Brad Looney, Brian Thorn, Tracy McGraw and Wayne Shepard.
