

He was born December 1, 1941 and was raised in Tyler Tx to George W. Johnston Sr and Maudie Mae Johnston, he was one of 10 children. A resident of Tyler for his entire life, he joined the military and served in Korea, he worked at Trane in Tyler for 32 years, he was a Christian and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for many years.
He was married to Judy Johnston for 15 years. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Johnston and his daughter-in-law Samantha Johnston; brother, Harold Johnston and sister, Brenda Baker; Sister-in-law, Shera Guillory; 3 grandchildren and many, many cousins, nieces and nephews spread throughout the East Texas area. He was preceded in death by a son, Evan Johnston; brothers, George W. Johnston Jr, James Johnston, and sisters, Doris Johnston, Peggy Ferrell, Barbara Bell, Dorothy N. Welch, and Nancy Ward.
Graveside services with Military honors are at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Midway Memorial Cemetery in Tyler, under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
