Amelia M Von Cappeln

of Union City, NJ peacefully passed away on on Tuesday, December 6, 2022,

surrounded by her loving family.

Amelia was born in Jersey City, NJ on November 14, 1935. She moved to Union

City and this would become Amelia’s home for most of her life.

Amelia worked as a Paraprofessional for the Union City Board of Education for

27 years. She was a beacon for both her students and coworkers. Her zest for

life was contagious and all whom she touched benefited from her dedication.

Amelia was awarded the Senior Citizen Award by Hudson County in 2018.

Amelia cherished time with her family, her love for cooking, music and laughter

and will be sorely missed by all whom loved and shared such fond memories.

Amelia is predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Von Cappeln. Her siblings

Antonio, Fausto, Italia and Augusto. She is survived by her brother Stan P.

Angeloni and his wife Roseann. Her three children; Frank Von Cappeln and his

wife Marianne, Gary Von Cappeln and his wife Alba, and Janice Aportela and her

husband Luis. She was also a proud grandmother to her six loving

grandchildren; Christine, Mark, Eric, Leah, Tyler and Dylan along with he many

nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Visitation: Friday, December 9th from 3-8pm at Leber Funeral Home, 2000

Kennedy Blvd., Union City, NJ.

Funeral Services : Saturday, December 10th at 9:00 am at Leber funeral Home

followed by a mass at 9:45 am at St. Joseph’s-St. Michael’s Church, 14th and Central Ave.

Union City, NJ.

Interment will be at Garden of Memories, Soldier Hill Road, Twp of Washington,

NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charities, Alzheimer’s

Foundation &/or Special Olympics Hudson County Area. #1, envelopes will be
