George Robbiani 91, of Ridgefield, passed away on Monday 6/15/15. He was born and raised is Union City and lived in Weehawken for 20 years before moving to Ridgefield 45 years ago. George was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service in Union City for 35 years before retiring in 1984. He was a decorated veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 14 of Union City and the VFW Post 7502 of Ridgefield.
George was the beloved husband of Theresa (Terry) Robbiani (nee. Mariani). He was the devoted father of Jessica Pizzuta and husband Robert and the late Georgianne Robbiani. He was also the loving grandfather of Brittany and Jenna Pizzuta as well as many devoted nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be on Friday 6/19/15 at 9am from the Leber Funeral Home in Union City then to St Matthew’s Church in Ridgefield where at 10am a mass will be offered. The interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
