Leda Antonia Molina

This is not just an obituary but an open love letter from her children.

Leda will be remembered for her infectious laugh, wicked sense of humor, and deep love for her 8 children. Her reply to an I love you from her kids was always, ”I love you more.” Leda Molina is legendary for ruling with a strict hand but she taught us how to love hard. Mom was our greatest cheerleader, always had our backs, was forever proud of our every accomplishment, and lifted us up during our lowest moments. All our friends loved her, the neighborhood loved her. Thanksgiving and Christmas always had room for anyone who didn’t have a place to go, Mom was always there with a plate ready and strong hugs. She loved her plants and animal friends, something sweet with her coffee, and her telenovelas.

Not only was she always feeding friends, neighbors, crossing guards, and the list goes on but also any animal she could find. Our mom loved to feed the birds much to the chagrin of some folks, so much so that one day she received a citation in the mail with photographs of her in action, throwing bird food for her bird friends. A black and white photocopy of her being a bird-feeding “criminal”. Leda wasn’t going to stand for that and immediately called Mayor Stack to protest against her complaint. Our mom was told she was free to continue feeding the birds. As if anyone could ever stop her.

Leda is survived by her loving children, Veronica Richmond, Patricia Ulloa, Romy Baker, Jason Guzman, Erick Guzman, Kurt Guzman and Ashley Guzman. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Ilse Molinari and the love of her life, Dr. Eduardo Guzman. Also surviving her are her 9 siblings, 10 grandkids, and 17 great grandkids.

She was a force of nature and this world will not be the same without her, we will never be the same without her. Rest In Peace Mami. We love you eternally and carry you with us for the rest of our lives. Thank you for loving us. Until we meet again.
