 Ross a great man with a big heart and smile to go with it. We have fond memories of being invited to your house for an amazing dinner and great company -a memorable evening filled with love that came from both of your hearts .

When I began teaching at Woodrow Wilson and had the privilege of having Caroline as my teaching mentor, she lovingly shared stories of her husband. The stories were filled with pride and joy. When I finally had the chance to meet Ross, I felt as though I knew him already. He was everything that Caroline described him as- smart, witty and a heart of gold. 

Rest In Peace, Ross. 

Dear Ross, 

I am so sorry to learn of your passing.  I remember being in your home for a get together a number of years ago. You and Caroline were the most gracious hosts. It was clear that the home you shared together was one filled with love and laughter.    

Sending prayers that the memories of your life together will comfort Caroline in the days to come.

Ross it is hard to believe over 40 years have passed when we met, you as a Skyliner and Caroline and I following the band.

You became part of our family.  The four of us celebrated every Thanksgiving and New Years Eve together with so many laughs and memories.

We will miss our Mr. Teddy Bear.

I met Ross when you and I were colleagues at Wilson.  I liked and respected him immediately for his obvious intelligence and wit. Ross was a true gentleman. I have enjoyed the glimpse into his life through 
viewing the amazing photos posted here. 
I pray those memories bring you peace.

Rossie was my little cousin. He was my only cousin on my father's side. My Aunt Marge and Uncle Ross were going out and asked me to babysit. I remember a little cutie with head full of red curls. When he got older he decided to play drums...on his dresser. Not sure Aunt Marge enjoyed that.. Later I would join the Vagabonds Drum Corps. Though I loved it, I joined after high .school and only stayed in 2 years. I gave little cousin Rossie my Vagabond jacket. We ,sadly lost touch, though not in my heart.


When I think of Ross, I think of his true tender heart and smile. He was a tough and serious judge, so much so that my goal was to make him
laugh during Drillette tryouts every chance I could. He helped us be an amazing team because he truly loved being a part of our passion and his. He believed in us and relished in our accomplishments.  Before our senior competition year, he told us he would buy us dinner if we scored a perfect 20 in precision. Although we did not win that year, we did indeed score that 20! Ross was so proud and so scared that he had to feed a bus load of hungry girls! I can honestly say he made a true difference and impact on me; I felt I owed it to him to do my very best. I was happy to make him proud and I know he honestly was. We had a great squad- he made it that much better. Ross, know that you are gone but will never be forgotten. My dearest Smitty- my heart goes out to you always. Please remember you both will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️ 

Ross,  I never met you personally.Your wife Caroline would say so many beautiful things about you . That It made me feel as if I knew you., 
I’m sure you will be missed greatly . Sorry you left so soon!

Ross was an amazing person and I am grateful to have called him my close friend for almost fifty years.  He was the first friend I made when I moved from Arkansas to Poughkeepsie in 1972 and we have remained like family ever since.   Caroline I love you and my heart is hurting for you.
