Anita was born on February 15th, 1948, in San Antonio to Geronimo and Suzie Estrada. Anita worked as a nurse’s aide at Morningside Manor in San Antonio for two years when she first got married. She also worked as a head waitress at the Officers Club at Lowry AFB in Denver, Colorado. She later trained and worked as a volunteer dental assistant at Plattsburgh AFB, New York and later worked as a volunteer dental assistant at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas after her husband retired from the USAF. Anita was a hard worker who gave her all to everything she did. Her industrious attitude didn't stop at the workplace, as she was a frequent volunteer at Plattsburgh Air Force Base non denominational Christian Church and Catholic Church. At Plattsburgh Church she praised and worshiped God by singing her favorite gospel song's with the gospel choir which she loved dearly. Anita’s heart was filled with compassion for those in need, and she spent much time helping Central American refugees that were on their way to Canada with food, clothing, and acting as an interpreter, assisting them at medical appointments.
Anita never met a soul she couldn't befriend, and if you weren't her friend it just meant you hadn't met her yet. She was a loving wife & mother. Anita's light will continue to shine in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the friends and relatives who have given them comfort and support in their time of need.
