Aurora F Marquez

Aurora Marquez, age 95, passed away unexpectedly December 30, 2016. She was born March 4, 1921 in La Coste, TX. She was one of 8 children born to Carmen Fierros and Andrea Flores.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesus Marquez. Survivors include her children Lencho Marquez and wife Dora, Mary Delgado and husband Mario, Alicia Mendoza and husband Antonio, and Jesse Marquez and wife Rachel.

Aurora was known by many as a sweet, loving, gentle soul that always showed unconditional love to her family. She was loved by all that came in contact with. Her smile was contagious and and she will be missed greatly by all.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Colonial Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. An additional visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 from 10:00 am until the funeral procession leaves at 12:15 pm for the Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery on Gibbs Sprawl Rd.

The family would like to send special and most sincere thanks to the staff at Silver tree Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for taking such great care of Aurora during her more than 2 1/2 year stay at their facility. Even though she suffered in the end with advanced dementia, the staff always managed to keep her smiling on a daily basis.
