It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian C. Donlea, a devoted husband, cherished father, proud veteran, and faithful child of God. Brian was born on February 15, 1943, in Iowa and passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 82 surrounded by his loving family.
Brian dedicated his life to service, spending 30 years in the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant before retiring. He carried the values of honor, integrity, and commitment beyond his military career, living each day with strength, humility, and compassion.
Above all, Brian loved his family deeply. He was a steadfast and loving husband to Mary A. Donlea, a guiding and supportive father to Shelly and son Shannon, and a source of wisdom, laughter, and encouragement to all who knew him. His faith in God was the foundation of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and integrity that will continue to inspire his family for generations to come.
Brian is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Shelly (Tom) Stellwagen, Shannon (Linda) Donlea; his granddaughter’s Molly Stellwagen, Ashley (Eric) Maus, and grandson Colton; and many other extended family members, friends, and brothers- and sisters-in-arms. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Donlea, mother, Bernice Donlea, siblings, Don Donlea Jr, Larry Donlea, Mick Donlea and grandson, Eric Stellwagen.
A service celebrating Brian’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at 10:00am at Christ the King Lutheran Church. A burial with full military honors will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Christ the King Lutheran Church after the interment.
Honorary Pallbearers are Matt Tonn, Brian Jones, Chris Jones, Nick Donlea, Tony Donlea, Kirk Nelson, J.R. Donlea, and Brian Grant.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Christ the King Building Fund in Brian’s name.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love and example Brian gave will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
