

Carol Ruth (Storms) Waldschmidt went to be with our Lord on January 24, 2016, at the age of 95. She was the only child born to Kurt and Irene Stutzke on December 25, 1920 in Ipswich, SD. Her early life was in Rochester, MN until she married. In 1939 she married Lt. Col. Isaac Damon Storms and raised three children, Dianna, Jay Dee, and Mary Jane. During this marriage they traveled to different places through the military, until they settled in San Antonio, Texas. In San Antonio, Carol and her husband ran several businesses after his retirement to include a trailer park, the Cactus, and Breezeway Market. Carol enjoyed fishing, RVing, bowling, playing bingo and dominoes. Carol was also a very talented seamstress and crocheted many different items. She had many friends and enjoyed socializing and finding humor in life. She had a very green thumb and enjoyed caring for her plants.
Carol had a love for music and played accordion. She was also a very talented organist who in her younger years played at ice skating rinks. As an adult, Carol played many years for not only Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church, but other churches and her family as well until her arthritis no longer allowed her to play.
After the death of her husband Isaac (Dick) in 1994, Carol continued enjoying life and time with friends and family. In 1999 she married her long time friend Charles Waldschmidt at Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church. They enjoyed short trips to surrounding towns especially stopping at the local bakery. Carol will always be remembered for her strong personality, red hair, resounding laugh and therapeutic “Toddy for her Body”.
She was preceded in death by both husbands Lt. Col. Isaac Damon Storms and Charles Waldschmidt and her parents Kurt and Irene Stutzke. She is survived by daughters Dianna Tison of Bulverde, Mary Jane Young of Converse and son Jay Dee of Willis, Texas; six Grandchildren and many great Grandchildren.
