Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Raymond and Margorie Maye Ramsey, his sister Caroline Ramsey, his first wife Linda McCandless Ramsey, and one niece, Patricia Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife Vallie Wharton Ramsey, his son Charles William Ramsey and wife Hollie, his brother Timothy Ramsey and wife Sue, stepson Aaron Wharton, one grand-daughter Kylee Ramsey, 3 step grandsons, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
