Dennis R. Baumann passed away in the early morning hours of May 2, 2019. He was born in San Antonio on April 19, 1949. Dennis is survived by Leslye Ferrell Baumann, his wife of almost 50 years, daughter Jennifer Sepulveda, son-in-law Orlando Sepulveda and granddaughters Emily, Natalie and Ashley Sepulveda. Additionally, he is survived by brothers and sisters Betty Magel and Ron, Leland Baumann and Shirley, Gary Baumann and Sharon, and Verlaine Druck; brother-and sisters-in-laws James Ferrell and Debbie, Tere Ferrell, Lynne Rivas and Charlie, Jan Lopez and John; and his faithful companion Holly. Dennis had numerous nieces and nephews that he cared for greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Valentina Baumann. Dennis graduated Sam Houston High School and immediately joined the Texas Air National Guard where he served until 1973. Dennis and Leslye married in June of 1969 and Dennis began working at Ferrell Air Conditioning, where he remained until 1989. He then began working at Ince Distributing and was there until he retired in 2011 because of early onset Alzheimer’s. Dennis was an avid hunter and all-around outdoorsman. He loved spending time in his yard and the Texas Hill Country. He was a charter member of the Live Oak Lions Club and played a major role in all their activities, and services they performed for the City of Live Oak. The family would like to express a very special “thank you” to My Medical Team Hospice and to the Autumn Winds Nursing Home for their exceptional care, concern and help to our family in the last year. Visitation is Wednesday, May 8, at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City from 5 to 8pm. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Universal City with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews Scott Magel, Bryan Baumann, Michael T. Baumann, Lucas Mobley, Michael A. Baumann, Christopher Ferrell, Jacob Lopez, BG Lopez and Dylan Rivas. Dennis loved flowers and they are welcome. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation for research on early onset Alzheimer’s. The family would like to express its gratitude for the support and love from friends and neighbors over the past few years.
