Dorothy Dwan Merriner, age 91, passed away on May 28, 2016 in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born on March 9, 1925 to Claude and Edith (Leuliette) Swiger in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 44 years, Sgt. Junior A. Merriner. She is survived by her children, Jeffery Merriner of Clarsksburg, W. VA., Claudia Trader and husband J.C. of Lumberport, W. VA, David Merriner of Clarksburg, W.VA, and Thomas Merriner and wife Mary of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Freska Trader and Dakota Trader of Lumberport, W. VA, and Robert Merriner and wife Christian of Universal City, TX; sister, Emaline Richards; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family also wishes to thank the caregivers from Senior Buddies, AA, and the nurses and aids from Hope Hospice for all that they have done. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
