Dorothy Kay Newcomb

Dorothy Kay Newcomb, age 72 passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Fort Sam Military Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Dorothy was born November 5, 1948, in Jenkins, Kentucky, to Earl and Justine Patierno. She went to Virgie High School. She married Larry J. Newcomb on February 22, 1971, in Clintwood, Virginia. For fifty years she was an Air Force Spouse.

Dorothy truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, snacking, and spending time with her family. Dorothy had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.

She is survived by her husband: Larry Newcomb, her three sons: Michael Blankenship, Christopher Newcomb, and Patrick Newcomb, her brother: Danny Patierno and her sisters: Darlene Karl and Diana North. Dorothy also leaves behind many grandchildren, family members, loved ones and beloved friends.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Monday, August 16, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas 78148. Following the visitation will be a committal service at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, Texas 78266.
