Our beloved mother entered Heaven's gate into the arms of Jesus on April 10, 2016 at the age of 101 at one of her daughter's home in Converse, Texas. She was surrounded by family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl and three of her five children, Mario Gladkowski, Carl Kern Jr., and Victor Kern. She is survived by two daughters Luella Slocum and Dr. Mary Riley and their spouses, plus an adopted granddaughter Renee Chapko. She is also survived by her sister Agnes Ashcraft. She had (5) children, (18) grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Wednesday April 13, 2016 from 6:00P.M. to 9:00P.M. and a funeral service will be held on Thursday April 14, 2016 at 2:00P.M. in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas, 78148.
