in Mission, Texas on May 11, 1926, the daughter of James and Florence Walker, and was one of four
children. She always wanted to travel, and when she met and married Army Air Force navigator John
Derderian, she got her wish. During their life together, she lived in Texas, South Carolina, New York,
Wyoming, Illinois, Germany, and Japan, and made many friends along the way that she treasured
dearly.
Those who got to know her can attest to her jovial spirit, delightful sense of humor, and compassion
for those whom she held dear. She was a wonderful cook and learned to make the many Armenian
dishes her husband enjoyed that were made by his mother.
She loved her family, her many relatives, her children, grandchildren, her great granddaughter, as
well as her neighbors, all of whom can attest to her generosity and loving nature.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 58 years, Lt. Col. John Derderian. She is
survived by her son, Michael Derderian, and wife, Vicki; daughter, Donna Kelley and husband, Clay;
as well as brother, Wilton Walker and wife, Arlene. In addition, she is survived by her two
grandchildren, John-Michael and Bryanna Derderian, her great-granddaughter, Ryland Green, and
many cousins, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention.
The Derderian family invites you to celebrate her life at Colonial Funeral Home from 11:OO am to
12 noon on Wednesday, August 29th, with the graveside service to be conducted at 1:OO pm at Ft. Sam
National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any intended donations be made to the
charity or organization of choice in her name.
The family also wants to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Shavano Park Senior
Living, TransitionCare, and Guiding Light Hospice for the love, compassion, and attention they gave
to her while she was in their care.
