Eva Mae Thomas

Eva Mae Thomas, age 82, of Live Oak, Texas passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023. She was born October 12, 1940 in Freemanville, Alabama to Locklin and Estelle Johnson. Eva was an ordained Minister in the Church of Nazarene. She taught kindergarten and first Grade at Valley Hi Nazarene Christian School and she loved to garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit R. Thomas; parents, Locklin and Estelle Johnson; brothers, Frank Johnson, Leo Johnson, Ledell Johnson, Willie Lee Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Odell Johnson; sisters, Annie Ruth Allen, Myrtice Louis and Julia Johnson.

Eva leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving children, Dr. Derrick Thomas, Kathy Taylor (Bernard) Melanie Jackson, Kermit Thomas, Jr. (Elsa), Terrence Thomas, Michael Thomas, grandchildren, Brittany Taylor (Louie Lau), Devon Jackson, Kiara Taylor, Jared Taylor, Romelo Thomas, Krystiana Thomas, Elijah Taylor and one great-grandchild, Samuel Lau.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd., Universal City, Texas 78148. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 at10:00 am at Crossroads Community Church, 5834 Ray Ellison Blvd., San Antonio, Texas 78242. Committal service will follow at 1:00 pm, Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78209.
