Gene Allen Deacon

Gene was born on February 21, 1954, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Leland Deacon & Joyce Romyns. As a young man Gene yearned to serve his country & would enlist in the United States Army. Gene would serve with the 8th Engineer Battalions "Hot Shot Squad". He attained the rank of Specialist 4 & would be awarded the Medal of Good Conduct. Gene also enjoyed bowling with his friends & family.

Gene was above all a kind and caring soul. He was a loving brother, uncle, & friend. His light will continue to shine in our hearts forever. Gene will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy that will be treasured and kept alive in the memories of all who knew him.

Gene was preceded in death by, his mother, Joyce Figueroa, sister, Maria Figueroa, & his brother, Michael Deacon.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sisters, Rose Torres & Carmen E. Figueroa, brother, Rafael Figueroa, nieces, Jasmine Thomas & Anna Colon, & his nephew, John Solla.

A visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, located at 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX, 78148, on January 9, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
