

Graciela (Gracie,Chela) Ramirez, 66, of Converse, Texas passed away Monday February 6, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born on December 18, 1950 in Coahuila, Mexico to Jesus and Bertha Zertuche. She was raised in Juarez, Mexico by her Tia Margarita and Tio Ramon.
Gracie attended Primary and Secondary school in Mexico and majored in Accounting. In 1970, she moved to California and began to work at Electro music. She soon met her first husband Juan Rivera and had their one and only daughter Denise Rivera. Gracie spent about 10 years in California before moving and settling in Texas. She was a school bus driver for Judson ISD for 20 years and also worked for East Central ISD and Fort Sam ISD. At the time of her passing she worked for Randolph AFB ISD. On her downtime she loved to visit with family and friends. She loved to travel, but only to Mexico. Gracie always talked about moving to Acapulco and starting her own business. As retirement was approaching her desire was to spend her remaining years in Puebla, Mexico.
She is survived by her daughter Denise Rivera-Paulette (Brynner); grandchildren Aubrey Carter, Fajja Paulette and Kahliq Paulette. Sisters: Hortencia Zertuche, Trini Garcia, Juanita Zertuche, and Maggie Zertuche. Graciela was loved and adored by her nieces and nephews and enormous amount of friends she made throughout her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Bertha Zertuche, and her husband George Ramirez.
Visitation will be held: Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5pm-9pm. Services will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 from 6pm-9pm at Colonial Funeral Home: 625 Kitty Hawk Rd Universal City, TX, 78148. Reception will be held immediately after the service at Hilton Garden Inn: 8101 Pat Booker Rd, Live Oak, TX, 78233.
