MSG Harold E. “Sonny” Johnson, Jr., US Army, retired, went home to be with his Lord on November 7, 2013 at the age of 75. A Vietnam veteran, he loved his country and serviced 27 years. “Sonny” was the first born son of Harold and Dorothy Johnson. He graduated in 1957 from Washington High School in Washington, Indiana. He is survived by his dear wife of 42 years, Patricia, along with children Kelley Hernandez, Shelley Thomas, Dana Latta, Lori Marchand, Karen Karam, Jeff, Rimmer, Tina Doogs; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; He is also survived by his brothers; Jimmy, Gary, Don, and Jerry Johnson, and his sisters: Barbara Atwood, Georgie Howard, Judy Sullivan, and Cheryl Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 grandchildren. A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
