James R. “Robbie” Gibbs was called home on June 4, 2011. He is survived by his loving parents Jimmie and Hazel Gibbs to include his children: Meagan, Cody and Conner Gibbs of San Antonio as well as Elizabeth Gibbs of Dallas. Additionally, his beloved friend Rossana Moncada; friends Annette and Liam McCardle as well as numerous relatives in North Carolina survive him. Robbie was a 1979 graduate of Samuel Clemens High School where he was an Honors graduate. He attended Texas Lutheran College on a full football scholarship and graduated with a double major in 1983. He was a lifelong Eagle Scout who enjoyed fishing, swimming, football and weight lifting. Robbie was a loving father who looked forward to spending time with his children. He was an active member of Community Bible Church. Robbie is loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. “God can take a mess & make a message.”
